One Wrong Word
The Courier
You walk what cannot be transmitted. Tonight that means quartz crystals, a schedule sheet, and your sister's life expectancy.
Your goalGet the message out whole and both of you clear by dawn.
Your backstory
How you got here
Nobody knows this city's dead ground better than the person who crosses it nightly.
When the network was blown last autumn, Sylvie would not stop transmitting. You could not stop her either. So you started walking her schedules, because a courier in front of her is one less reason for her to carry anything herself.
The rules are simple and you know them like prayers: never run, never explain twice, never carry more than one true thing at a time. Tonight the one true thing is in your coat lining, and the geranium is missing from Henri's sill.
